Conservatory which includes 4 parts hosting all the floral exhibitions throughout the seasons
Pride of Chicagoans since its construction between 1890 and 1895, the conservatory has four parts: the palm grove, the orchid house, the ferns house and what is called the "show house", i.e. a thematic room that changes with the seasons. We learn, for example, that sixty-five million years ago, Illinois was populated by dinosaurs because of the abundance of ferns. The Show House hosts all flower shows.
