Oak Park Conservatory offers a quiet, relaxing walk with a very local feel and free admission
If you have a little time, a visit to Oak Park Conservatory might be a good way to end the day, but it's nothing like Garfield Park, one of the largest in the Chicago area (a few "L" stops to the east). Oak Park's is much smaller, and mainly intended for local residents. A very local atmosphere, but admission is free, so you might as well allow yourself a quiet, relaxing stroll among the cacti, orchids, begonias and olive trees.
