GALLERY 37
Art center with a floor gallery with free access, coveted by many real estate contractors
This art center was created in 1991 to promote art in the Chicago community and support young artists. The fifth-floor gallery is open to the public. Block number 37 is where the art movement began. Located in the center of the Loop, it had been coveted by numerous real-estate entrepreneurs, but the exorbitant prices per square meter and the mayor's desire to encourage a project that was "good for the community" enabled this location to endure for two decades.
