SHERWOOD POINT LIGHTHOUSE
Automated working lighthouse at Sturgeon Bay added to the list of U.S. Historic Places, now privately owned.
Located at the northern tip of the Lower Peninsula, northwest of Sturgeon Bay, this lighthouse was erected in 1883 and automated in 1983. The following year, it was added to the list of historic sites in the United States. The lighthouse is currently privately owned by the US Coast Guard, but you can still go and see it. Don't get too close, there are people living there. Note that the Sherwood Point Lighthouse is the last lighthouse still operating in the Great Lakes.
