SWISS HISTORICAL VILLAGE
Open-air tourist village-museum with period structures relating the life of the Swiss pioneers who arrived on these lands.
It is the number one attraction in New Glarus, the reconstruction of a small Swiss village of thirteen houses, with its church, fire brigade, school and housing. Some of the structures in this open-air museum are period, the oldest being a wooden house built in 1850. It retraces the lives of the Swiss pioneers who arrived on these lands more than 150 years ago, until the advent of New Glarus as a tourist museum village. It's a bit dusty, but if you're interested in history, this is definitely the best place.
