LA MAISON DE LUCIE * * *
Renovated house with superb rooms on floors with terraces
This is the birthplace of the poet-novelist Lucie Delarue-Mardrus from Honfleur. The 18th-century mansion has been lovingly renovated. The access is deserved - the signs are blessed while cursing the alleys of Honfleuraise - but what a reward on arrival. A small inner courtyard where wrought iron flirts with statues and exotic plants... Paving stones and pebbles on the ground. On the ground floor, there are two lounges with character, the fireplace is going well, and upstairs there are superb bedrooms of the same kind. Both No. 6 and No. 8 have a terrace. In the courtyard, the former caretaker’s house has been converted into an independent suite. In the basement, in the vaulted cellars, an authentic hammam with an oriental atmosphere. A little corner of paradise that Muriel watches over closely, supported by an adorable staff. In short, a large house on a human scale for a dream stay, just a stone’s throw from the city centre.
