NATURAL BRIDGE STATE PARK
Stone arch carved by the elements, tools and pieces of burnt wood being part of the archaeological findings.
About ten thousand years ago, when the last glacier retreated, men who came to live on these lands took up residence under this stone arch carved by the elements. This was demonstrated by archaeological research conducted in 1957 by the Wisconsinian archaeologist Warren L. Wittry and his team. Tools and pieces of burnt wood from this period are among the discoveries made on the site. The Natural Bridge State Park can be visited fairly quickly, and without the need to wear walking shoes.
