MINNEAPOLIS CITY HALL
Building to admire the massive rotunda that houses the work of Italian sculptor Larkin Goldsmith Mead, The Father of Waters.
Construction of the building began in 1888 and was completed in 1909. The building is another example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style and was built by the same architects as the Lumber Exchange Building, Long & Kees. At the time of its construction, the building boasted the largest clock faces in the world, larger than Big Ben. A visit to this municipal building is worthwhile to admire the massive rotunda that houses the work of Italian sculptor Larkin Goldsmith Mead, The Father of the Waters.
