MINNEHAHA FALLS
Minnehaha Falls became Minnesota's first national park in 1885.
In 1885, this park became Minnesota's first National Park. Residents gather here for outdoor activities. In the summer, there are concerts and performances. The park can be divided into two parts: the first, located on the upper part of the falls, is more manicured; the second, deliberately left in its natural state. On the small island above the falls is the bronze sculpture of Hiawatha carrying Minnehaha, characters from Indian legends that gave their names to the neighborhoods adjacent to the park.
