MINNESOTA MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART
This museum, founded in 1927 as the School of Art, represents American art from the 19th century to the present day
Founded in 1927 as the School of Art, the museum has changed location many times - six times before settling permanently near the Mississippi River - and name twelve times. It was not until 1992 that it became the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the only museum devoted entirely to American art. Its mission is to give special support to Minnesota artists. American art from the 19th century to the present day is represented.
