The Gunflint Trail is a destination in northeastern Minnesota, near the town of Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Early booking is recommended, as every season on the Gunflint Trail is sensational. You'll see elk with their new brown fur and long-legged cubs. There's always a good chance of spotting them in the wetlands where cattails grow. The Gunflint Trail is also a 57-mile Minnesota Scenic Byway, linking Grand Marais on the north shore of Lake Superior to Saganaga Lake near the Canadian border.
