MOGHADAM MUSEUM
This prestigious Qadjar residence belonged to the archaeologist and artist Mohsen Moghadam, and was inhabited by his descendants until the early 1970s before being converted into a museum, so it is a precious testimony to the Iranian way of life as well as Qadjar architecture.
Before you even enter this museum house, take the time to admire the remarkable brick porch decorated with beautiful majolica. On the ground, a turquoise ceramic gutter leads to the small central basin around which the large garden is organized, flanked by a second, smaller courtyard.
The various buildings of the former residence house very beautiful collections of pottery and ceramics as well as beautiful decorative glass objects dating from the Ve in the 10th century. The windows also display many of the explorer and artist's personal belongings. The basement baths with their mosaic and stucco decoration, the pavilion of the small garden, with its colourful stained glass windows and facetted mirrors on the ceiling are the highlight of a truly illuminating visit to the art and know-how of Qadjar architects.
