ALAVIAN GONBAD-E MAUSOLEUM

This tomb of the xiith century of the Alavi family - large family during the Seldjoukide period (1051-1220) - is probably one of Hamadan's most interesting. Note the selfjoukide (twelfth century) funeral mosque, well preserved, despite the disappearance of the dome replaced by a roof. Also enter the central, square room, flanked by four small towers. Focus on the excellent conservation of stuc ornamentation. Floral motifs on the exterior walls and richly adored geometric decor on mihrab. Access to the tombs, located in the crypt, by the spiral staircase.
