MAUSOLEUM OF SHEIK SAFI OD-DIN
Identifiable by far with the funeral tower Allah-Allah, named as the name of God there on the whole facade. Interlocking signs in each other blend with geometrical shapes. It would be a pity to stop at this curiosity because the interior of the mausoleum where the body of Safi Al-Din famous mystic (1252-1334) was born was born in Ardebil and great ancestor of the safavide dynasty, founded by Shah Ismail (1486-1523).
The first piece, the Gandil Kaneh either the house of lamps used to recite and read the Koran. Everything in these few square metres is linked to religion, the scriptures on the walls which resume verses to the sacred book or prophetic words to the reasons representing divine thoughts. The walls and the ceiling are covered with sheets of gold and paintings with blue, night and green colours. The treasure of the building is the hall that hosts the porcelain museum. Hundreds of small niches are finely cut in the painted walls of nice pink, blue and golden hues.
