SANCTUARY OF THE IMAM REZA (BOQ'EH-YE GHADAMGAH)
Go there and contact
The mausoleum of eighth Imam, Imam Reza, buried there at the beginning of the ninth century, is of course the subject of a great religious fervor and is one of the main holy places of Shiite Islam. The site itself, about thirty kilometers from Nishapur, is a haven of freshness located on the path of Machhad pilgrimage. The octagonal octagonal building, based on an iwan, was raised later in the nineteenth century. Inside the mausoleum, the stone slab carries the Imam Reza's supposed foot, dead in Machhad in 817, hence the encircling of pilgrims for the site, which also houses the remains of Haroun Al-Rachid, the fifth Calf. Take advantage of your visit to stroll through the beautiful garden with its warriors, pines and platanes.
