CHAK-CHAK (SHRINE OF PIR-E SABZ)
Go there and contact
The main pilgrimage site for the Zoroastrians, the sanctuary is set in the heart of a magnificent setting on the mountain side of a small secondary road along the Chak-Chak, depending on the Massif Kush massif. Every year, the Zoroastrians from around the world meet there between June 14 and 18. Coming from Iran, India, Europe and the United States, they pay tribute to Princess Nick Banou, daughter of the last sassanide king. Legend tells us that King Yazdegerd's daughter (632-651) would have fled to this little mountain after the assassination of his father by the Arab invaders in the th century. A small temple was built at the supposed location of his refuge.
