HOUSE OF THE TOWERS OF THE WIND (BAGH-E DOULAT ABAD)
Located at the bottom of a garden-lined orchard, the residence passes to enjoy the largest wind tower (badgir) of Iran with its 36 m high. The system, particularly ingenious, is to speed up the wind captured in the tower compressing it when it is blowing between the pillars, as in a whistle. The air flow decreases naturally the pressure in the bottom of the tower and allows warm air to rise, refreshing the house in which the bottom of the tower leads. The air is also refreshed by running water channels, the qanats, running under the house.
The difference in temperature is really striking, as you can see during the visit. Built in the second half of the seventeenth century, the house is centered around a beautiful pond in carved onyx. A pine driveway leads to the harem located at the bottom of the garden (closed to the visit). Beautiful perspective on the vine growing between the cypress.
