In the crystalline air of Mahan, the turquoise tiled dome and its overhauling minarets, which are tested by earthquakes, appear on the distant screen of the Kouh-e Djoupar, whose ridges mark the horizon of a thin line. The Shah Nematollah Vali mausoleum, a pure marvel in the th century by the care of a Muslim king of India, because «under this dome, lies the most respected Dervish dervish.» Since then, the mausoleum has been embellished and extended to accommodate the faithful. The large dome and the main XVe gate of Ivories have been restored under the Safavides. The ensemble was expanded in Qadjar, which added soaring minarets. This «Persian Nostradamus», a centenary death in 1431, will indeed be revered by all monarchs. The first inner courtyard, bordered by beautiful cypress trees, promotes contemplation prior to the tomb visit. A second, stripped courtyard opens onto the outside with a monumental portal with two minarets. The tomb, neighbour of a monastery of dervishes, disciples of the Shah Nematollah Vali, is a place of pilgrimage. Gardens, fountains and water pieces make the visit delightful.
