NEUSTADT
After its bombardment, this New Town features a brick building finely decorated inside and out.
Neustadt (New Town) suffered greatly from the bombings of 1944 and 1945; its town hall was destroyed. However, an important monument remains: the Katharinenkirche, a red brick construction, finely decorated both inside and out. Opposite the Dominsel, you cannot miss the "Mill Gate Tower", Mühlentorturm, the only survivor of those that once punctuated the Neustadt wall (the aristocratic town in the Middle Ages, planned by the Margraves), which was destroyed in the 19th century.
