SCHLOSS KÖNIGS WUSTERHAUSEN
This simple, sober castle, once owned by Frederick William, was used as a military hospital during the war.
Unlike his father King Frederick I, who was fond of ceremonial architecture, Frederick William had more ordinary tastes. His autumn residence in Wusterhausen is in his image: simple, sober, rudimentary. This thrifty king will go down in history under the nickname of "Soldier King" because he took such good care of his army (which he never sent into battle). During the war, the castle was used as a military hospital. After its restoration, it reopened to the public in 2000.
