SCHLOSS LÜBBENAU
Neoclassical castle in Lübbenau with English park, orangery and half-timbered stables.
Lübbenau Castle is a neo-classical building that belonged to the family of the Counts of Lynar, who also owned the citadel of Spandau. Although the foundations date from the 16th century, the castle owes its present appearance to a redesign in the 19th century. The park, laid out in the English style, is the work of landscape architect Peter Lenné (creator of the Park Babelsberg, and the Pfaueninsel, etc.). Around the castle there is also an orangery, also neoclassical, and a beautiful half-timbered stable. Today Lübbenau Castle is home to a hotel.
