SCHABBELHAUS - CITY MUSEUM
An educational museum housed in a superb Renaissance gabled brick house, retracing 800 years of the town's history.
The museum retraces the history of the town and brings together its treasures. It is housed in the superb gabled brick Renaissance house of a merchant, brewer and former mayor named Schabbelhaus. An excellent museum, very educational for children. The museum, reopened in 2017 after 7 years of renovation, presents the town's 800 years of fascinating history in two historic buildings, with many exhibits recalling the lives of local citizens, burghers and pirates.
