The Alter Strom is the historic canal on which the old town was built. Today it is truly the heart of the city, with restaurants, cafes, fischbrötchen stands and shops on either side of its docks. The left bank, Am Strom, is the most commercial and touristic street of the city, black of the world on Sundays of the beautiful season.

Super ! On peut y rester des heures et meme revenir chaque jour si l´on a envie. Ce canal bordé par deux rues commercantes et vraiment beau et typique: restaurants de poissons grillés, magasins de plage, café, chalutiers qui vendent leur peche... Attention cependant aux goelands mangeurs de frites qui se jettent sur les passants pour leur voler leur nourriture ( j´en ai fait l´experience ! ) .
