The DVB, which manages the public transport system in Dresden, puts four ferries at the disposal of residents and visitors, one of which is for the transportation of cars.
Line Johannstadt-Neustadt. From the wharf on the edge of the city centre near the Beer beer garden, the ferry crosses the Elbe to take you to the other bank in the Neustadt. Go back every ten minutes.
Line Niederpoyritz-Laubegast. In the east of the city, magnificent views of the river Elbe and the Cossues villas of Loschwitz.
Line Kleinzschachwitz-Pillnitz. This line allows you to cross the Elbe to visit the sumptuous castle of Pillnitz, which is forced to visit Dresden (except winter, when the castle is closed). You will need to go to the Kleinzschachwitz wharf by train or road.
