If kitsch reigns supreme in Sophienkeller, it is not without a certain second degree. The grotesque baroque figures carved all around this immense cellar, evoking gargantuan banquets, remind us that Saxon cuisine can be enjoyed in a good mood, with laughter and songs. Cabbage, potatoes, generous sauces, homemade bread, game and pork are to be enjoyed, if desired, in pods suspended around a wooden carousel!
