DREIKÖNIGSKIRCHE - CHURCH OF THE WISE MEN
It is the oldest church in the Neustadt. The first construction dates back to the beginning of the 1685 th century, but the building burned completely during the great fire of. When Auguste le Fort ordered the reconstruction of the old town destroyed in a "new royal city", the Dreikönigskirche had to be rebuilt several hundred metres from its original location, in order to place the wide Hauptstrasse. Rebuilt in baroque style, a 87,5-metre bell tower is added to it in 1859. The church was destroyed again by the bombing of 1945. It is rebuilt between 1984 and 1990 but its beautifully decrepit baroque altar still remains. A beautiful macabre dance by Christop I. Walter in 1534 orne the wall facing the choir. From the bell tower, the view over the city is breathtaking.
