ALTER JÜDISCHER FRIEDHOF - FORMER JEWISH CEMETERY
It is the oldest Jewish cemetery in the whole of Saxony. Between 1751 and 1869, the Dresden Jewish community rested its dead in this wooded park. Before Count Brühl, Minister of Auguste the Fort, allowed the Jewish burials in the city hall, the community had to resign its limbs away from the city, sometimes going to Bohemia (present Czech Republic). The cemetery was miraculously spared by the desecration of the Nazi era, but was not entitled to the attention of the Communist regime of the GDR. Today, this beautiful cemetery is visiting the Jewish community in Dresden. Just ask for the key from the Hatikva association, which is located at 10 Pulsnitzer Strasse, just steps from the cemetery.
