Located in the Stadtmuseum (Dresden City Museum), the "city of Dresden gallery" is a beautiful part of the dresdois artists of the th and th centuries. Expressionism (Otto Dix), New Objectivity and the art of the GDR's time are well represented alongside contemporary artists. It is regrettable that the collection, rich with 1 900 paintings, 800 plastic works and 20 000 graphic works, is only partly presented on a floor of this beautiful Baroque building, the Landhaus, built between 1770 and 1776 by Friedrich August Krubsacius.
