ALBRECHTSBURG - ALBRECHT CASTLE
Perched on Precursor Hill, a castle of fairy tales dominates the small medieval town: the castle of Albrechtsburg, a castle dedicated to beauty and pleasure and not to war, rare at the end of the Middle Ages. Beautifully renovated today, this castle was built between 1472 and 1500 in a late Gothic style and served as a residence for the Wettin family. It is a small architectural jewel, reworked in the th century, with painted vaults painted in neo-Renaissance style, the vis stairs and sumptuous parquet floors. The first residential castle in Germany, it was transformed in 1710 into porcelain manufacture, according to the wish of Auguste le Fort. The castle also houses an exhibition of porcelain from the castle workshops. On the third floor, a beautiful exhibition recounts the stages of the construction of the fort. A Château de Belle au Bois castle with an interactive setting that also addresses children.
