MÜCKENSCHLÖSSCHEN
Opt for an exquisite stopover at the gates of the forest. The Müchenschlösschen, literally the "mosquito castle", is despite its ironic name an absolutely charming place. In a superb Art Nouveau bourgeois villa, by the water and a bridge, this good table in the Waldstrassenviertel distills a creative, regional and international cuisine, for a quite advantageous price-quality ratio. Its menu is rich in suggestions: garnished salads, bruschette, flammenküche, beef carpaccio, herring tartare, Mücken-Burger with its giant steak, but also rösti (potato cakes), rumpsteaks or delicately served schnitzels. This chic brasserie has no equal in transforming itself into a fairly festive bar at night, where concerts are regularly organised.
