Leipzig's most renowned film festival is none other than the oldest documentary film festival in the world! Qualitative, frequented by an assiduous public, in perpetual conceptual renewal, the DOK of Leipzig invests for a week in the black screens of the city's cinemas, including the CineStar, without forgetting more unusual public spaces, such as the east hall of the railway station. A selection of some 300 documentary films, created and directed by German directors such as Werner Herzog, but also by filmmakers from 50 other countries, are in the running each year. In terms of attendance, the 50,000 cinephiles mark is often close. A real success.
