FESTIVAL HIGHFIELD
Go there and contact
The Highfield is the largest independent rock festival in Germany. It was previously held near Erfurt, in Thuringia. Since 2017, it has been moved to the shores of the Störmthaler See, which was until then the least known of the three "new" lakes in Leipzig. Big names from German and international music perform each year on the festival stage: the Swedish band The Hives in 2019, but also Offspring in 2015, Queens of the Stone Age in 2014, Die Ärtzte in 2013, or Placebo in 2012... However, the Highfield does not forget the young bands, to whom it offers a fabulous springboard to break into the profession. In total, more than 40,000 visitors now attend the festival every summer, in a stunning atmosphere and in a now picturesque setting, with this amazing stage set above the lake. To access the festival site, do not hesitate to use the bus shuttles from the main station, at a cost of 7 euros per ticket, convenient if you arrive in Leipzig by train. If you come by car, ideally use the nearby A38 motorway.
