Founded shortly after German reunification, in 1992, MDR is a large German regional media group that radiates throughout Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thüringe. With 9 radio stations and a television channel, the MDR sits both in the offices of the City-Hochhaus (sometimes called «MDR-Turm») and in the Media-City of the Südvorstadt with regard to the places of production.
