The house in which Schiller lived from 1799 until his death in 1805. You can visit his office and, in the building behind it, several rooms dedicated to the life and work of this writer-poet-philosopher-teacher. Did you know that this famous playwright wrote a play based on the Swiss legend of William Tell (Wilhelm Tell)? Goethe, one of his best friends, gave him the idea on his return from a trip to Switzerland where he learned about the legend and recovered the chronicles of history. The play was written in 1803 and performed in 1804.
