A monastery where Luther spent important years of his youth.
As a monk, Luther spent important years of his youth in this 13th-century monastery. A cell dedicated to him can only be visited with a guide. However, the monastery, founded in 1277, the beautiful Renaissance courtyard and the interior of the church (1290-1350) are open to visitors outside church services. Accommodation is available in the monastery. Don't miss the last vestiges of 14th-century frescoes in the Elisabeth chapel.
