GASTHAUS AN DER ALSTER
Restaurant with traditional cuisine near the Alster.
A huge menu of traditional German dishes, as well as endless beers, all this in an extraordinary kitsch setting. We are greeted by a grandmother's automaton sewing on her old pedal machine and at the back of the room sits a barrel organ dating from 1931. The daylight filters through the small crochet curtains, but it doesn't matter: Germany is in the plate and inside this brasserie, not trendy for a penny, authentic and friendly. On the menu: Knödel, Spätzle, Matjes, Schnitzel, etc., everything is there!
