Great food in this St.-Georg Bierstube. Beer brewed on site.
Just opposite the station, it's a very good Bierstube (i.e. a cosy brewery) with a very Hamburg atmosphere, with a decor made of exposed beams and rustic furniture. The food is very good for a handful of euros, mainly simple and well-made traditional German dishes, washed down with an excellent beer brewed on site. The solid Bauernfrühstück (farmer's breakfast) would almost make you fast for the rest of the day.

Good, be sure to bring cash with you since they do not accept cards and the ATM that they have inside the restaurant applies borderline fraudulent fees. It would be helpful to be clearly informed about this before ordering, especially if the customer does not speak German.
