DEUTSCHES SCHAUSPIELHAUS
The Deutsches Schauspielhaus is a renowned stage that brings classic authors up to date.
The Deutsches Schauspielhaus, one of Germany's most renowned national stages, has been at the heart of Hamburg's cultural life since 1900. In addition to exploring the classical repertoire (Grillparzer, Horváth, Shakespeare, etc.), new theatrical forms combining music, dance, visual arts, science, documentation and fiction are on the program. This major stage in the German and international theatre landscape is housed in an opera-like setting, built in neo-baroque style by the architect Ferdinand Fellner.
