Every year, the Hamburg Pride loudly proclaims the rights of LGBTQ+ people in a demonstration through the streets of Hamburg.
Gay Pride commemorates the beginning of the LGBTQ+ liberation movement that began in 1969 with the Stonewall bar uprising (in New York's Christopher Street ). The usual event is accompanied by a rich festive program, both cultural and militant, during the "Pride Week". Nearly 100,000 people from all over Europe come to Hamburg to celebrate the progress made since the 1960s!
