A pretty turquoise mosque on the banks of the Alster.
Located on the banks of the Aussenalster, this beautiful turquoise mosque is the fourth oldest mosque in Germany and one of the largest Islamic centers in Europe. Built in 1960, its modern architecture nevertheless respects all the principles of traditional mosque construction. Whether you are a Muslim or not, you can visit it by respecting the silence of the faithful, by removing your shoes and, for the ladies, by covering your hair.
