MINIATUR WUNDERLAND
The whole world in small format!
Hamburg, city of superlatives! Here, in the heart of the Speicherstadt, is the largest model railroad in the world! More than 930 miniature trains run on 12 km of twisted tracks, with a host of model buildings (3,600 houses and bridges), characters (215,000), natural elements and other accessories in front of the astonished or amazed eyes of visitors, directed by a computer system of more than 45 computers. In this oversized city, here is the den of the miniature overkill. The collection and the space of the "wonderland" is constantly growing, and this excess makes it one of the most visited attractions in this technology-loving country. In the 1,300 exhibition spaces of the former Speicherstadt warehouse, you can spend hours admiring the virtuoso, animation-filled models, which provide a typical setting for Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, the American West, Las Vegas, Scandinavia, and an airport: the aircraft take-offs and landings are the real highlight of the exhibition! The construction of the miniature airport alone cost 4 million euros, which justifies the price of the entrance tickets. In addition to its ten existing models, the exhibition will soon expand to include France and England in the years to come. A titanic project, which has been a huge success. Among the novelties: the miniature Elbphilharmonie of course!
