A nice street in Hamburg that escaped the bombs of the Second World War.
Deichstraße is one of the few streets in Hamburg that survived the destruction of World War II. It consists mainly of residential houses and former trading posts built after the great fire of 1842. Between the street and the Nikolaifleet canal, charming half-timbered and red-brick facades line up. A window on a bygone Hamburg, it is not a museum street for all that and its establishments are of high quality.
