HERBERTSTRASSE
The Herbertstraße is a street in St. Pauli that is only accessible to men of age.
In Sankt-Pauli, the shop windows cheerfully promote the pleasures of the flesh, but prostitution in the shop window is forbidden, unlike in the Netherlands. The Hanseatic city has found a solution to this "problem" while keeping up appearances: closing an entire street to the general public. The Herbertstraße is a brothel-street which is only accessible to men of age and therefore forbidden to minors and women. A gate hides it from the eyes of the adjacent streets, and you have to sneak through it to enter.
