DER SCHLUMPER GALLERY

The aim of the beautiful project "Die Schlumper" is to show the works of mentally, psychically or physically handicapped artists according to the principles of art brut. The association also runs a workshop and an art school, where children from schools in Hamburg can come and learn to express themselves through drawing and painting, guided by the members of the group, whether they are disabled or not. In addition to the social and human dimension of the concept, which is already to be commended, the works presented are often very strong, direct, wild, and sometimes exceptional.
