In the refrigerated display case, the gorgeous homemade cakes look like they're straight out of the unbirthday tea scene from Alice in Wonderland. The 1950s office-chic canteen decor may be a bit cold, but it's a nice change from the baroque, pastel-colored candy shop-like pastries that seem to be reproduced like rabbits all over Hamburg. It's also the perfect place to drink a coffee, read, write, or watch the passers-by strolling along Spritzenplatz.
