The St. John's Church in Lüneburg is a five-aisled Gothic building from the 13th and 14th centuries.
The five-aisled Gothic church from the 13th and 14th centuries is the oldest in Lüneburg and one of the oldest in Lower Saxony. Its leaning tower is 108 m high and is one of the symbols of the city and dominates the main square Am Sande. Its spacious and elegant interior houses no less than 39 altars. Johann Sebastian Bach learned to play the organ in this church with his uncle, a chorister and composer for St. Johannis.
