On the Trave, a few beautifully restored sailing ships are a reminder of Lübeck's maritime past.
The Lübeck Harbour Museum is an open-air museum where you can see about 20 well-restored historical and traditional sailing ships. The project was initiated by a number of friends who are passionate about sailing. They acquired the ships and restored them to give Lübeck back the maritime atmosphere it had lost. In addition to the typical Baltic Sea sailing ships, the inventory also includes a dredging boat and a tugboat.
