Kiel's town hall, whose tower is a symbol of the port city.
The imposing neo-Renaissance building dating from 1907-11 is a must-see on Rathausplatz, with its tower imitating the bell tower of St. Mark's Square in Venice. With a height of 107 meters, the tower of the Kiel town hall is seven meters taller than its Venetian model. It is the only monumental city hall in Kiel, as the former Renaissance city hall was destroyed during the Second World War.
