This 13th century building, but renovated and modernized in the 18th century when the university was founded, is the city's central monument, with its lively square that is the place to be for all kinds of events, whether shopping or going out at night to enjoy student life. Its main hall is open to the public. Don't miss the superb painted woodwork on the ceiling and side walls, which dates mainly from the 17th century. They are wonderfully preserved.
