CITY MUSEUM
A museum in a magnificent setting recounting the history of Trier through documents dating from antiquity to the present day.
A city like Trier owes it to itself to have a museum dedicated to its history! And so it is, with documents from Antiquity to the present day, in a magnificent setting: the Romanesque cloister of the Simeonstift (11th century), with ivy-covered walls in complete harmony with the Porta Nigra. There are various themed rooms, including the original Yellow Room, whose theme is religious, sporting, cultural, social and tourist life in Trier. A cabinet features paintings and works from Southeast Asia. Regular temporary exhibitions.
